Bridge the Gap | Phase 2

Training Center

As a follow-up to milestone 1 (the musical camp), a tuition center was established to serve the students' requirements better. The goal is to address the coping ability of students who have been out of touch with their academics for an extended period.

The Upper Room training center:

The tuition center is a building with classrooms containing students from different age groups aspiring to resume studies. They follow a daily timetable with several subjects, similar to school-like curricula. The candidates will be tutored in all courses required for the upcoming academic year in the formal education system. Several teachers are responsible for quality education and offer personalized attention.

The goal:

The tuition center’s operating hours will be the same as the school's to develop a cohesive learning environment. The goal is to prepare students for a class entrance exam to enroll in the next year and resume their formal educational route.

  • To create a network of institutions in various fields of education and skill centers to establish tuition centers which cater to the needs of these students. This is done to address appropriately the coping capacity of the students who have not been in touch with their studies for a good amount of time.

  • A tuition center is a classroom containing those candidates from the camp, from different age-groups (for different classes) aspiring to resume studies. From the following year they will be coached in classrooms that will be acquired on a rent basis. (2020-21)

  • These centers will be established in one classroom in a school campus, where 20 to 30 candidates study under the guidance of two teachers. This coaching in a small group, which is quite common in India ensures individual attention to the child/youth making it easy to track the progress of the students and offer proper assistance.

  • The candidate will be tutored on all the subjects necessary for the coming academic year in a formal education system. The operating times of the tuition centers will be the same as the school hours and the candidates will be in a studying environment. The candidates dress up in normal school uniform although they are not officially part of the school. The goal of these centers is to prepare the students for the entrance exam in a class in the formal education system they can enroll in the coming year.
