Reaching Out and Building Trust

 

Organize a week long Career-Faith-Music Camp

  • To bombard them with inspiration, gather a limited group of maximum 100 students from different villages across the three district.

  • To build an atmosphere of trust and equip them with resources necessary to get back to education


 
Bringing together 100 young people from various communities to inspire them, foster trust, and provide them with the resources they need to return to school.
The musical "JOB-Where Are You Father?" was composed expressly for this demographic, addressing their problems and worries. A team of 8 members invited young people to the Cultural Centre of Miao in 2018 to express their everyday life questions through music, dance, and theatre.
Moreover, the program included aptitude tests, one-on-one counselling, prayer and spiritual sessions, workshops based on career and opportunities, testimonials of students and workers, crazy games and fun activities, mentorship, sketches covering relevant themes, which are spoken about in the musical.
Individual needs and stories were assessed in counselling sessions to consider future support through The Upper Room. The highlight of this one-week program was the premiere of the musical. The students studied dialogues and dances to perform in front of a large audience. This was an experience of self-efficacy, self-expression, and encouragement. 
 

Where & How:

  • At the Cultural Centre, Diocese of Miao, Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh.

  • A team of 8 members to organize and lead the program.

  • Using the Musical- 'Job, Where are you Father?' written specifically for this target group addressing their struggles and concerns.

  • The program module, among other things, will comprise of:
